Cause and effect
This homeowner recently had a new roof installed with a low profile roof vent. Unfortunately, it was not ventilated well enough and the underside of the roof, the sheets of plywood ended up covered in black mold. He did have soffit vents as well, but it was just too much moisture being captured and trapped that they were not efficient. In the first picture, we can see the culprit, a shower vent that he has going directly into his attic. Without the proper amount of air flow, it has wreaked havoc on his home. The second picture, we see the damaging results. The plywood in the entire attic is covered in mold!
